An independent expert on sustainable mobility, Hans-Peter Kleebinder is passionate about communication and a skilled networker.
He has a degree in business administration, psychology and politics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. He then went on to complete a doctorate at the University of St. Gallen with a thesis titled ‘Mobility and shaping public opinion in Europe’, which was written against the backdrop of the initial public discussions on sustainability and mobility instigated by the Club of Rome.
Over the next 24 years, he held senior positions in communication, sales and marketing at Mini, BMW and Audi. Christened the “Mini Mastermind” by the magazine Horizont, he played an instrumental role in the success of the iconic British marque in Germany. He is every inch the communications pioneer – he helped to launch BMW’s and Mini’s first digital platforms as well as supporting their social media drives; he was also involved in Mini’s initial user-generated content campaigns and the establishment of Audi’s corporate media house and newsroom. He chaired the Dieselgate communications task force prior to leaving the group.
Hans-Peter Kleebinder is now a renowned international speaker (he was included in Handelsblatt’s list of the top 100 European speakers), director of the ‘Smart Mobility Management driven by Smart Cities & Smart Data’ executive programme at the University of St. Gallen, and a member of the scientific board of Bundesverband e-Mobilität (German Federal E-Mobility Association). He is also a host at IAA Mobility responsible for the topic of sustainability, and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global New Mobility Coalition.
In his role as Non-Executive Chairman based at the Munich office , Hans-Peter Kleebinder has been involved in the set-up and expansion of Pantarhei Advisors Germany since January 2022.
He lives with his family in the countryside outside Munich and in the Zillertal valley in Tyrol.
